Dental marketing for clinics in Hungary that treat international patients
The Goat Group builds patient-acquisition systems for dental clinics in Hungary that treat international patients. Campaigns are split between patients who drive in from neighbouring countries and patients who fly in, replies are prepared with the clinic's team in German, English or the patient's own language, and server-side tracking follows each enquiry to a visit and an accepted treatment. We are not a broker and take no commission per patient.
Dental marketing for clinics in Hungary that treat international patients
The Goat Group is a European dental marketing agency that builds patient-acquisition systems for dental clinics: paid ads, video production, websites, local SEO, WhatsApp conversion and ChatGPT ads, measured on booked patients, not clicks. For a clinic in Budapest, in a town near the Austrian border such as Sopron, or anywhere else in Hungary that welcomes patients from other countries, we set up the ads, content, replies and measurement that bring those patients to your chairs.
You pay us for that system. We do not act as a broker, we do not take a fee for each patient and we never sell your enquiries to anyone else. What follows describes how we would work with a Hungarian clinic; it is not a claim of results in Hungary. The broader method sits on our dental tourism marketing page.
Who this is for, and who it is not for
This page is for owners and managers of Hungarian clinics who:
- already treat patients from Austria, Germany, the UK or elsewhere, or have free chair time and want to start;
- have at least one person who answers enquiries in the patient's language on every working day;
- would rather build their own flow of patients than depend on agents and booking portals.
It is not for patients looking for a dentist in Hungary: we cannot recommend clinics, book appointments or give prices. It is not for intermediaries either, since we only work for clinics. And it will not help a clinic whose inbox goes unanswered for days, because a patient comparing clinics in two countries simply moves on.
Why Hungary is a different conversation
Hungary has been a known name in dental travel for a long time, especially in German-speaking countries. That history helps and hurts. Patients already accept the idea of treatment there, so you do not have to sell the country. But they arrive with opinions, friends' stories and a list of clinics to compare, so your clinic has to explain clearly why it is the one to choose.
Two features shape the marketing more than anything else:
- It is inside the EU. Many patients feel reassured that the same broad framework for data protection and cross-border care applies at home and in the clinic. Your content can explain this calmly, without turning it into a promise.
- Distances are short. For patients from neighbouring countries the journey is a drive, not a flight. For others, Budapest is a short hop from many European airports. Each of those trips needs its own message.
Three kinds of journey, three campaign plans
We do not treat all international patients as one audience. In Hungary we usually plan around three groups:
The patient who drives in. Someone in eastern Austria may cross the border for a day, come back for a second appointment and never book a hotel. For them the ad talks about appointment times, parking and how many visits a treatment takes.
The patient who flies in for a few days. A patient from the United Kingdom or Ireland plans flights, a hotel and time off work. They need to understand the sequence of visits and the gap between them before they commit, so the landing page and the WhatsApp replies lead with timing.
The patient with a personal link. Hungarians living abroad, and their families, often want treatment during a trip home. These enquiries arrive in Hungarian and follow holiday calendars, so we time campaigns around those periods rather than running them evenly all year.
Each group gets its own campaigns in Meta and Google Ads, its own budget and its own report line. A German-speaking driver and a British flyer should never compete for the same euro.
From the first search to the follow-up at home
A typical path starts with a search or an ad, continues on a treatment page that shows your doctors and your clinic, and turns into a conversation on WhatsApp. WhatsApp automation sends the first reply within minutes, asks where the patient is writing from and which treatment they are considering, and hands the chat to the right person on your team.
With the patient's consent, X-rays and photos are received by your clinic through secure channels we set up. Your dentists review them and send an outline. Any treatment plan sent before the visit stays provisional until the in-person examination.
After treatment, your clinic decides the aftercare. We turn it into a short page and a sequence of messages that tell the patient who to contact once they are home in Vienna, Munich or Manchester. A filming day with your doctors supplies the short videos that answer the questions patients ask most before they travel.
Languages: Hungarian is rarely the patient's language
Most international patients do not speak Hungarian, so the language of the conversation is decided by the source country: German for Austria and Germany, English for the UK and Ireland, and other languages depending on where you advertise. Our own team works in English, Romanian and Spanish and replies to clinics in English. Patient-facing content is prepared together with your team in the patient's language and checked by your team before it goes live.
For clinics focused on German-speaking patients, our guide to German, Austrian and Swiss patients covers what those patients ask and how they compare offers.
Rules on both sides of the border
Hungary has its own rules on health advertising and patient data, and the country where the ad is shown may apply its own standards to health advertising as well. Within the EU, data protection rules apply to patients at both ends. We review the known rules with you before launch; the clinic remains responsible for its advertising. In practice that means no promised outcomes, no medical advice in ads and careful wording around anything that looks like a price. A data processing agreement is signed with every clinic.
Measuring what happens after the click
Goat SST, our server-side tracking system, sends Meta and Google the events that matter: a booked consultation, the first visit and an accepted treatment. That lets the campaigns learn from patients who actually came, whether they drove or flew. Data is anonymised on the server, on infrastructure inside the EU. Results also depend on clinical quality and on how your reception answers.
What we need from your clinic
- Admin access to your ad accounts, website and the WhatsApp Business number your team uses.
- A named person for each patient language you want to serve.
- A filming day with your dentists.
- Calendar access, so first visits and follow-up visits are recorded separately.
- A clear list of treatments you offer to international patients and of what you are willing to publish about them.

Frequently asked questions
Do you already work with dental clinics in Hungary?
This page sets out our method; it is not a list of Hungarian results. We do not yet have a public dental tourism case study, and the results in our published case studies come from other markets, so we do not present them as Hungarian outcomes. On the strategy call we look at how the system would fit your clinic, your languages and the countries your patients come from.
Should we target Austria and Germany differently from the UK?
Yes. Patients who drive in from a neighbouring country care about appointment times, the number of visits and the trip itself. Patients who fly in plan flights, hotels and time off work. We run separate campaigns, budgets and landing pages for each, and report them separately, so you can see which group turns into visits.
Can you write our German ads and replies?
Our team works in English, Romanian and Spanish. German ads, pages and reply templates are prepared together with your team and checked by your team before they go live. The person on your side who speaks German then carries each conversation, because patients decide on the strength of that exchange far more than on the ad.
Is being in the EU something we can use in our ads?
You can explain it, carefully. Many patients feel more at ease knowing that EU data protection rules apply in the clinic as well as at home. What you should avoid is turning that into a promise about outcomes or quality. We review the known rules with you before launch, and the clinic remains responsible for its advertising.
Do you take a commission on patients who travel to us?
No. We are not a broker and we do not charge per patient. Your clinic pays for the system we build: campaigns, content, WhatsApp flows and tracking. Every enquiry arrives in your own WhatsApp and your own calendar, so the patient relationship stays with your clinic.
